3MO TXL RWD & AWD GEARBOX

The TXL gearbox has become a benchmark in its category in less than three years. Available in 2 and 4-wheel drive versions, it meets all the selection criteria for a reduced weight of 27kg:

- 500N.m of torque capacity thanks to its 89mm primary/secondary sprocket set, and 20mm (1st to 3rd) and 17mm (4th to 6th) wide sprockets. For drifters, rest assured, the TXL gearbox is capable of withstanding up to 1,000N.m of torque. Tested and approved in 3 full seasons of French championships!

- Mini footprint for easy installation in small environments: BMW, Ford Escort Mk2, Mazda, Catheram Seven, etc.

- Contained buget

The TXL has three inspection hatches for regular, precise monitoring of your gearbox without opening it.

To optimise the gear ratio according to your application and technical data (engine, tyres, etc), multiple gear ratios are available for each gear, as well as three input constant ratios. The 6th gear is direct drive (ratio = 1), like a traditional BMW gearbox. This reduces the BV footprint and optimises engine efficiency in this ratio.

To meet the demands of our rallycross and off-road customers, we have developed a 4-wheel drive version, available with or without a central differential. The TXL transfer offers the option of using standard front and rear axles when the engine is in the centre-rear position. With its streamlined architecture, the TXL 4-wheel drive version brings a breath of fresh air to the T3F, TT and T3 markets.

For each project, we design and manufacture an aluminium adapter plate to couple the TXL to your engine while retaining the original gearbox cover. This makes it possible to keep as many existing components as possible, and therefore keep the budget down: starter motor, starter ring gear, flywheel, clutch, etc.

Additional technical information

The longitudinal transmission is made to measure. Various types of tulip are available: flector BMW Ø96mm, lobrö Ø108mm, Dana Spicer, Atlas.

To install the hydraulic clutch release system, fit a hydraulic transmitter (minimum Ø 0.7") to the clutch pedal to make the transition more cost-effective.

It is essential to fit an adjustable end-of-travel stop on the clutch pedal, as the hydraulic release bearing has no output stop.

Depending on your application and the technical characteristics of your vehicle, an oil cooler may be recommended. In general, we recommend a 13-row radiator, 210x98x50mm with AN6 inlet/outlet connections.

It is essential to use synthetic oil type 75W140, extreme pressure (class GL5). We recommend using EP-LUB X3V oil. It has a higher viscosity at 100°C than other oils on the market (>26.5mm²/s). This level of viscosity ensures the presence of a sufficient oil film under load. However, viscosity plays little or no part in extreme pressure conditions. It is then the extreme pressure additives that come into play and ensure gear life.
